Waiting and Wondering...

Finally finished one of my panda bear boxes.

And I also stocked the shop fuller than it's ever been.

I made these mini treat bags over the weekend. I'm totally addicted to vintage trick or treat bags---Yes, I remember them with great glee! So of course, I tried to make some on my own. These are the perfect size for ATCs too. I had to carve another stamp for the orange moon and use a mask to mask out the owl when I stamped. I'm very pleased with the way they came out--and now of course, I'm totally regretting that I did not buy a gocco when I had the chance. I'm quite intrigued with two color printing at the moment.

But I'm still somewhat enamored with what I can do with my poor man's printing press.

I haven't touched my work in progress manuscript/book dummy though since I posted about it last so I have to get back to that. The research book I ordered through the library system came in and I picked it up yesterday so I need to get serious about that.

Meanwhile, I've got a headcold that is making me nuts! Kiddo is home sick today with it too--he brought it home and gave it to me. Usually the colds don't start until Halloween--what's up with this??? Anyhow, I'm just about fried for the day. I think it's time to snuggle on the couch with a good movie and wait for the orders to pour in. HA!

Research the easy way

Cuteness abounds on the internet--it continually amazes me how easy it is these days to find inspiration and research material in cyberspace whereas before it was hours and hours in a library with fingers crossed. I can go to China in a heartbeat and see things I wouldn't be able to otherwise.

How cute is that?

Journey On!

What a last couple of weeks! Stove broke and had to be replaced, central air broke and had to be replaced (MAJOR OUCH!), I jumped in a pool during the heatwave with my cel phone in my pocket (ouch!), had some wierd bug for about three weeks with the worse symptom being an extremely sore throat (yes, ouch!) and last night I had to make 96 dairy-free blueberry muffins for my kiddo's pre-school graduation celebration (yum!). Whew!
I'm still trying to get my ducks in a row over here (check-list major!) and the kiddo starts full-time school summer camp next Tuesday! I think the six hour free days will help me get the stuff I need to do get done (first off, getting all the files prepared for my website rehaul). I managed to do a mock up for my contribution for the Chunky Book they are putting together for the ConvenZioNE I'm going to in August--now I just need to make 29 more copies to complete my contribution!

Show me the Way

Lately, it's the way of the Panda around here. I'm a little obsessed if you haven't noticed--probably much more so within the last year--this is good--obsession with art means we are getting somewhere where we need to be (at least it does for me).

I keep sketching this image, it's really becoming a symbol for me of self-discovery. So I had to carve it.....

I'm going to use this rubberstamp to make my contribution for the Chunky Book that's being put together for the participants at the ConvenZioNE I'm going to in August. So, I have to make 30 4"x4" pages for that. I've got a month to do it, so I should be fine. So looking forward to that event!

And this is on my desk at the moment; an illustration I'm trying to do for my home page for my new revamped website that is coming soon. All part of the resurrection, don'tcha know.

And I better get to it soon, as the little boy wandered in here this morning and threw a large pad of paper on top of my desk and scattered the pieces to kingdom come! ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Needless to say, good thing I took a picture, cause it doesn't look like this anymore. That will teach me to jump from project to project. Hrmpf.

Speaking of jumping from project to project, I got the hankering to get back to bear making.
